  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the shield and the breast.
  • Dry your hands with a fresh towel or a single-use paper towel.
  • Clean the breast and surrounding area with a damp cloth; don’t use soap or alcohol which can dry the skin and cause cracked nipples.
  • Moisten the shield with water as this will help it to stick to the skin.
  • Place the shield centrally over your nipple (refer the enclosed manual for pictorial representation).
  • Note: Before use, you can express some milk onto the tip of the shield so that baby can have a smooth introduction to the shield.
