  Cool your burn; remove rings or other objects from the affected area; the burn should be cleansed with mild anti-bacterial wash; don’t break blisters; apply lotion, bandage the burn. Also if the burn is oozing cover it tightly with sterile gauze or else promptly seek medical attention.
• How long do you have to keep a burn covered?
  For the first several days after the incident, cover your burn to allow your skin to recover. Make sure the blisters on your skin remain sealed off. If a blister pops open, wrap the burn with a bandage right once to avoid getting an infection.
• How do you know when a burn is healing?
  Because it will differ in colour from your normal skin, it may be challenging to detect when a burn has healed, but healed skin will appear dry. Full-thickness burns are the exception and will start out looking dry.
